Frequently Asked Questions
Is TerraNet free to use?
Yes. The disaster risk score (earthquake, tsunami, flood, landslide) shown after entering your address is completely free. We only charge for the detailed PDF report that includes tailored preparedness advice, family rules, and stockpile lists.
What data is the risk score based on?
In Japan we use J-SHIS (NIED) and MLIT hazard maps; in the US, USGS and FEMA; in Taiwan, CWA; and globally we use GEM Foundation and Fathom. All sources are public government or research agency data. TerraNet adds no proprietary estimates on top.
Is the address I enter stored on your servers?
No. Your address is only used temporarily to compute the risk score and is not stored on TerraNet servers. We do not collect or store personally identifiable information.
Which countries and regions are supported?
We currently focus on Japan, the United States, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Mexico with high-resolution local data. For other countries, we use global datasets (GEM Foundation, Fathom) to produce reasonable-accuracy scores. We plan to expand to the Philippines, New Zealand, and the entire Pacific Rim.
What does the paid PDF report include?
It includes a comprehensive risk diagnosis; detailed earthquake, tsunami and flood analysis; maps and routes to three nearest shelters; AI-generated family preparedness rules tailored to your household; a stockpile checklist; and 5 immediate action items. Around 20 pages, „980 (or $9.99 outside Japan).
How accurate is the score?
The score is an informational reference based on public government data. Natural disasters cannot be predicted with 100% accuracy. Please use TerraNet's score as a relative indicator of risk levels. For building-specific concerns like seismic safety, always consult a qualified expert.
